Reference Level
Film reference level is the volume films are mixed at — peaks up to 105 dB SPL at your seat, with 115 dB from the subwoofer.
Most people watch 5 to 15 dB below reference at home. Being able to hit reference means your system has real headroom for the loudest scene without strain.
